Meet Our Staff

Without doubt, our strongest asset is our staff, both the people you see when you
stop in and the people who work behind the scenes. We are proud to have a
highly
educated and diverse staff and find great strength in the variety of
opinions and
experience we can share. We hope you'll enjoy reading a
little more about the folks
who help care for your pets. Our clinic was
recently remodeled and expanded in
order to continue our mission into
the 21st century.
Our Veterinarian Staff
Dr. James R. Miles, Director:
Dr. James R. Miles is a graduate of Michigan State University.
He has worked at St. Charles Veterinary Clinic since 1982
and became it's owner in 1995. His special interests include
internal medicine and oncology, orthopedic and laser surgery
along with ultrasonic diagnostics.
Dr. Jennifer Martens:
Dr. Jennifer Martens has been with our clinic since 2003. She
is a 2002 graduate of the Iowa State University. Her interests are
in preventative care and internal medicine as well as ultrasonic
diagnostics.
Dr. Thomas Favale:
Dr. Thomas Favale graduated from Iowa State University in 1988. He
has been with the St. Charles Veterinary Clinic since 1990. In
addition to general medicine, surgery and oncology, Dr. Favale
is studying the field of behavioral disorders as a nontraditional
resident at Purdue University.
Dr. Gail Novak:
Dr. Gail Novak is a 1988 graduate of the University of Illinios.
She began working for our clinic in 1991. Her primary interests
lie in general medicine, surgery, dermatology and pediatric care.
Dr. John Gmitro:
Dr. John Gmitro is a 1994 graduate of the University of Illinois.
He has an interest in internal medicine as well as surgery and
enjoys working with geriatric patients.
Dr. Valerie Vogel:
Dr. Valerie Vogel joined our clinic immediatly after graduating
from the University of Illinios in 2002. Her interests include
general medicine as well as small mammals, birds, reptiles and
other exotic pets.
Dr. Adrianne A. Brusek:
Dr. Adrianne Brusek joined our medical staff in 2005. She
graduated from the University of Illinois in 2003. Her special
interests are in dermatology, cardiology and internal medicine.
She also enjoys educating clients about preventative care.
Dr. Brandy McGreer:
Dr. Brandy McGreer is the newest member of our medical
team, joining our staff in 2007. She graduated from Kansas
State University. Her interests range from preventative medicine
and pain management to surgery and treating exotic pets.
